Another Lonely Night (Completes Another Lonely Day) shows that Marv was truly brilliant, through and through, from start to finish. A song that is as an unknown and unheard as it is absolutely fantastic. Its got a cracking chorus, excellent vocal performance from Marv and The Andantes, its bouncy, danceable, powerful, sad, regretful – and all in one three minute recording!
An unknown, unloved and unheard gem courtesy of soul belter Yvonne Fair. A cracking Motown debut that deserved a HELL of a lot better, it builds and it builds and it builds until you have yourself a Motown skyscraper. Simply brilliant!
Quite possibly the funkiest and nastiest thing to come out of Motown, Poontang most probably shocked Berry Gordy Jr. right out of his million-dollar 10-bedroom mansion!
“Earthquake Shake” is a song that is both brilliant and mental in equal measure. A psychedelic-disco-funk mash-up with delightfully crazy lyrics, it’s a wonderful insight into the mind of Norman Whitfield. It never even saw single release in the US or UK and never got the recognition it deserves!

Jimmy’s “He Who Picks A Rose” is the original and best. An uptempo track with both brilliant and meaningful lyrics, superb vocals all-round and some cracking instrumentation throughout, especially that sax solo!
